ACTIVITIES:
BUSH WALKS AND RIVER TRAILS:

The Lodge has 3 kilometers of river frontage which provide the opportunity for walks along the river as well as to explore the tree clad hills that rise behind the Lodge. It is recommended that such walks are accompanied by an experienced member of staff as game that may be encountered in the vicinity of the Lodge include Elephant, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard together with various species of antelope not to mention Hippo and Crocodiles on the river bank itself.

A visit on foot in the company of a guide can be arranged to the nearest village, some 4 kilometers away.  An ideal opportunity for visitors to see first hand how rural people in Zambia live and work without the aid of many amenities that are taken for granted in the developed world. This is not a specially constructed "cultural village" but rather the real way of life where people face the constant threat of floods and drought, raids on their crops by wild animals and hardship just as their ancestors did.

Walking safari's in the Lower Zambezi National Park in the company of a member of the Park's staff can be arranged.  Participants are transported by boat to the starting point within the Park with actual game viewing taking place on foot, returning to the Lodge by boat. Wild and untouched, the Park will provide the walker with the opportunity to view game in abundance in an unparalleled setting in the heart of the Zambezi Valley.  Animals that may be seen include Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Water Buck, Kudu, Bush Buck, Impala, Zebra and possibly Roan Antelope.
